Spicy Edamame Recipe : Easy to make recipe


Edamame is a Japanese bean that is rich in protein and other nutrients. It is very easy to make and it is also very tasty to eat. Let's see how to make Spicy Edamame recipe



Serve - 4 People Time - 1/2 hour

Ingredients to make Spicy Edamame:

  • 400g frozen or fresh edamame (in the pod or shelled)

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (use low-sodium if preferred)

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (you can use any oil)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (you can use any oil)

  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp ginger, finely chopped

  • 1-2 tsp red chili flakes (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tbsp Sriracha or another hot sauce (optional)

  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

  • Salt to taste

  • Lime wedges (for serving)

Method of making Spicy Edamame:

Cook the edamame:

  • Boil water in a pot. Add a pinch of salt and frozen edamame. Cook for 5-6 minutes until soft. Drain and set aside.

  • If you are using fresh edamame, it may take a little longer to cook.


Prepare the sauce:

  • In a large pan, heat olive oil and sesame oil over medium heat. You can use any oil.

  • Add chopped garlic and ginger and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  • Slow down the heat and add soy sauce, red pepper flakes and Sriracha (if using) and mix well. Sauce is ready.

  • Now add cooked edamame to this sauce and toss well. Stir it for 2-3 minutes until the edamame is well coated.

  • After this, remove it from the heat and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. You can eat this as an appetizer, snack or side dish. You can serve it with lemon slices for extra tang.
