Easy and tasty Aloo Paratha Recipe


Aloo Paratha is a popular North Indian dish with delicious mashed potato masala filling. It is nutritious, delicious, and perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is very easy to make. Let's see how it is made:



Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup water (adjust as needed)

For the Filling:

  • 3 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 8-9 garlic cloves

  • 1-inch ginger peace

  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped 

  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder

  • Salt to taste

  • Ghee or oil, for frying

Method of making Aloo Paratha Recipe:

  • To prepare the dough Mix wheat flour and salt in a bowl.

  • Add water slowly and knead into a soft dough. Cover it and keep it aside for 20 minutes.

  • To prepare the stuffing, mash the boiled potatoes till smooth.

  • Add onion, green chilies, coriander, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well and set aside.

  • To make the parathas, divide the dough into equal portions and make each one into a small ball.

  • Roll out the ball into a 4-5 inch circle and place a portion of the potato filling in the center. Bring the edges of the dough together, and pinch to seal.

  • Flatten it gently and roll out a paratha of about 6-7 inches in diameter. Use a light hand to avoid tearing.

  • Heat a tawa on medium flame. Place the rolled paratha on the hot tawa. Cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbles form.

  • Flip and apply oil on the cooked side.

  • Cook it by turning it over and over until it turns golden on both sides.

  • Serve the paratha hot with curd, pickle, or butter.
